Efforts to make the State a Knowledge Hub of the
country through “Atal Shiksha Kunj” established in
district Solan to attract educational
institutions. |
Efforts are being made to make the State a
knowledge hub. In this regard, One Engineering
College in Govt. Sector & 16 Engineering Colleges
in Private sector have been established. One
B-Pharmacy College in Govt. sector and 12
B-Pharmacy Colleges in private sector have been
established. In addition, 9 Govt. Polytechnics and
21 Private un-aided Polytechnics have also been
established. Besides, 81 ITIs in govt. sector and
95 I.T.Cs in private sector have been made
functional in the State. |

Opening of Technical University at Hamirpur |
The Govt. has established the
H.P. Technical University at Hamirpur, which will
be started functioning from the academic session
2011-2012. |

IIT Mandi to start classes in Mandi for the
academic year 2010-11. |
The classes in three courses of IIT, Mandi were
started at IIT Roorkee from the session 2009-10.
The classes from session 2010-11 has been started
in Govt. PG College, Mandi. |

Setting up of training institution with
association of Himachal Pradesh Drug Manufacturers
Association, which is expected to train about 800
trainees every year. |
In this regard Himachal Pradesh Drug
Manufacturiong Baddi is being informed for the
inspection of the institute by the officers of the
directorate. |
